Some website is promoting(?) one of my images as 'free download'. WTF!
Look what I found today. It was by a stroke of luck and due to an error on my part.
My page on the Ubudiah Mosque flashed up with a URL NOT FOUND error. I had this page for ages but only recently made it 'live', and I had a typo in the address, Ubudiah had been spelt 'ubuduah'.
At some point in between me making the page live and correcting the typo, some firm had found my image and decided that they would have it on their site.
It clearly shows a link to my website below the 'download image' button as shown below. Should I be grateful for the back link? The link is actually incorrect due to the typo but I set up a 301 redirect so there is no drama there..
But the issue I have is that this company is quoting 'feel free to download'. WTF.
So I sent them a message and asked them to take the image down or I will serve them a 'take down notice' having informed them that all images on my site are under copy right. Or, just send me a cheque.
These guys are making money on their website. And making money from allowing people to download my and no doubt countless other peoples images, without any royalities paid to the owner of the image, in this case me. Which is why I disabled right click across my site.
