Thoughts on Blogging #5
Content is King. Does trying to make your content as aesthetically pleasing to the eye count?
I'm not talking typos here. Every blog has typos. There are so many spelling differences between American English and the original, spell checkers have a hard job keeping up, I'm talking page layout and page construction.
There are so many blogs that I have come across in the last weeks which have serious design faults. The bloggers are not entirely to blame. But they should get on to their web designer and say 'What The Fuck. I pay you good money and you can't do shit'.
There are many devices. PCs, Lap Tops, Android, i-phones and no doubt a whole lot more. So I appreciate the 'time suck' in getting it right but then what blog aint a massive 'time-suck'.
Below are screen shots from my Adroid device. 'Page overshoots' are very common, especially for ads.
I don't have 'page overshoots'. I have a free version of Weebly, a very easy and simple blog to put together and tweak. I know that my pages look A-OK on a PC, lap top, tablet and smart phone. There are programs that will test your site and show you!

Look how content over laps other content!
Need I go on? OK I can go on for quite a while! Below another site:
This is a FULL WIDTH screen shot. The menu overshoots the page, both ends and the shopping basket, seemingly randomly placed. This is before a pop up appears with no obvious way to get rid of it. The website when viewed on a smart phone, well, we better not go there
This article is the second of many, on how bloggers and their developers do annoying things. Stay tuned!
