Changing of the guard in Taipei - Taiwan
The Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall erected in memory of Chiang Kai Shek, former president of The Republic of China (Photo has been Picasa 3'ed cos grey skies and grey concrete wash out all my photos and as everywhere in Asia, you just can't get a photo without people in it).
Two guards stand motionless until their hour is up and are replaced by 2 other humourless individuals. In between them is the statue of Chiang Kai Shek in bronze looking mighty pleased with himself.
The changing of the guard is a very ceremonious affair in typical commie style. OK, gonna cheat a tiny bit here. Some where on the other side of town is The Sun Yat Sen (a founding father of the Republic of China) memorial hall and the guards there do a similar thing. My photos were simply better there cos of being out side. You get the drift!
